The CHS community gathered today to embrace diversity through the celebration of Mass. The celebration was organized by the CHS Student Ministry group, and centered around the 31 countries currently served by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. The altar was adorned with flags from 29 of the countries in an effort to show our students the connection they have to young people all over the world.
Student participants read and translated intercessions in Spanish, French, Latin, Italian and Vietnamese, and Maurice Coleman ’82
, Catholic High School’s Distinguished Graduate for 2016-17, was also introduced to the community. The celebrant for today’s Mass was Fr. Tom Ranzino, pastor at St. Jean Vianney and vicar general for the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
