More than 60 CHS juniors and seniors joined another hundred students from five other schools at St. Stanislaus last week for the 25th Annual Judy Stewart Student Ministry Workshop.
Alongside their peers from Brother Martin, E.D. White, St. Scholastica, St. Stanislaus and Vandebilt, the CHS student ministry team spent three days praying and learning together to prepare to serve our school community this year. They were trained to lead small groups, honor confidentiality limits, recognize the stages of grief, plan retreats and much more.
The workshop offered them valuable prayer opportunities and experiences, and concluded with a commissioning mass attended by Mrs. Harvey. Several Brothers worked hard to make the workshop a success including Brother Bernard Couvillion, Brother Ronald Hingle, Brother Dwight Kenney and Brother Louis Couvillon.
Dr. Lincoln Sigwald, who is in formation with the Brothers as a postulant, worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure every detail was attended to. Many student ministers expressed a strong desire to have the spiritual high they experienced at workshop continue throughout their year in ministry.
