The CHS wrestling team will travel to Birmingham, Alabama, for the Hoover High Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 6 and 7. The meet gets underway at 4 p.m. on Friday with the semifinals and consolations beginning on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Hoover meet is one of the largest in the South, with 27 teams converging on the Birmingham high school. Seven teams from Florida will make the trip to Hoover.
The Bears sport a 12-5 dual meet record after last weekend's Bayou Duals, held at the Baton Rouge River Center. Coach Prochaska's grapplers went 6-2 in the Bayou Duals with seniors James DeLee (6-0 at 220) and Joe Clark (3-0 at 195) going undefeated.
Junior Jacob Fereday (32-4) and senior Cameron Carpenter (15-5) will help lead the way for CHS this weekend at Hoover. On deck is The Louisiana Classic the following weekend at Baton Rouge Community College.
