Stuart Sonnier '92 Named CHS Finance Director

Catholic High School is pleased to announce that Stuart Sonnier ’92, has joined the Catholic High School Finance Office as finance director. Sonnier, a native of Louisiana, earned a degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and is a licensed CPA with more than 15 years of accounting and finance experience. Before returning to Louisiana in 2002, Sonnier had the opportunity to work for accounting firms in Paris, France, and Boston, MA. Registration Open for the 28th Annual Golf Classic

Registration is now open for the 28th Annual Catholic High Golf Classic hosted by the CHS Alumni Association. The tournament is scheduled for Friday, October 6 at Santa Maria Golf Course.  Click here to register your team or to sign up as a tournament sponsor.   Tournament proceeds will assist with funding the CHS Golf Classic Scholarship and the CHS STREAM initiative for improvements to STREAM labs located in the Brother Gordian Udinsky, SC Science Center. Alumni Return Home for Grand Reunion

Catholic High School welcomed more than 100 CHS Alumni and their families for the Grand Reunion honoring the classes of ’77, ’87, ’97 and ’07 on Saturday, July 15. The event included face painting, balloon twisting, inflatables and campus tours by current CHS students and recent graduates from the class of 2017. Catholic High School honored long-time coach and Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Famer, Pete Boudreaux ’59, on Saturday, July 15, at the dedication of the Pete Boudreaux ’59 Track and the unveiling of the Pete Boudreaux ’59 Bust. Family and friends gathered to celebrate his lifetime of service and achievement advancing the mission of Catholic High School. Taylor Empson '17 and Brett Hebert '17 Earn The Rank of Eagle Scout

Taylor Empson and Brett Hebert, 2017 graduates, were recognized Sunday, July 16, for earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Empson and Hebert began cub scouts together with when they were in first grade and celebrated earning the highest rank as part of Troop 65.  For his Eagle project, Empson renovated the floor of the pavilion at St. Mark's Church in Gonzales.  This building serves as the meeting place for Boy Scout Troop 65, St. Mark's Youth Group and other church organizations. Andrew Ford '17 Latest To Be Awarded National Merit Schoalrship

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation released its fourth and final list of scholarship recipients for 2017, and four Baton Rouge area students from four different high schools were on the list. CHS graduate Andrew Ford '17, is the latest memeber of the class to be awarded a National Merti Scholarship. Alumni Association Hosts 10th Annual Fishing Rodeo

The Catholic High School Alumni Association hosted the 10th Annual CHS Alumni Fishing Rodeo in Fourchon, LA, on June 2-4. With almost 300 registered anglers, the CHS faithful invaded the Gulf coast for three days of fellowship and fishing. CHS Announces 2017-2018 Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

Catholic High School is proud to announce the Grizzly Great Athletic Hall of Fame inductees for the 2017-2018 year. Patrick Coogan ’93, Corey Gaines ’94, Major Applewhite ’97 and Donnie Jones ’99 will be formally inducted at the Grizzly Great Athletic Hall of Fame induction banquet in spring 2018. Corey Gaines graduated from Catholic High School in 1994 as a Man of the Year and one of the most prolific three-sport athletes in CHS history. Jenny Ridge Joins Staff In CHS Office of Advancement

Catholic High School is pleased to announce that Jenny Ridge has joined the staff of the Catholic High School Office of Advancement. Ridge will serve as the new Associate Director of Alumni Relations, replacing Barbara Camp who retired after 19 years of dedicated service to CHS. For the past nine years, Ridge has worked in development and communications for the Mental Health Association of Greater Baton Rouge. Registration is open for the 10th Annual Catholic High School Fishing Rodeo on June 1-3, 2017 at Chris Moran’s Marina – The Pavilion on Flotation Canal Road in Port Fourchon.
