Lacrosse at Catholic High School was founded in 2007, when a small group of student-athletes approached the administration with a request to start a team. Sixty players took the field and formed the first two Lacrosse teams at Catholic. Both teams competed in the Deep South Lacrosse League and played throughout Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast, winning games against established programs. Since its inception, the program has evolved and now competes within the Louisiana High School Lacrosse League, featuring 20 different teams from parishes across the state.
In 2014, CHS lacrosse won a District Championship for the first time. In 2017, the team won its first post-season playoff game, setting a new season win/loss record of 12-5 under new head coach George K. Hopkins.
