Bears Blast McKinley, Move to 7-0

Nine different players scored touchdowns as the CHS football team continued their winning streak with a 62-7 route of McKinley last Friday. The Bears remained undefeated on the season at 7-0.

Senior quarterback Jackson Thomas opened the scoring on the very first drive for the Bears with a 25-yard run. Junior running back George Hart led the Bears’ ground game with 81 yards, but the wealth was most certainly shared with others. CHS scored 42 first half points and ended the game with over 430 yards of offense.
The Bears’ defense also played extremely well allowing just 102 total yards. McKinley’s lone score came on a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
The game was a perfect opportunity for underclassmen to get Varsity game experience in order to build depth for the postseason. Head Coach Gabe Fertitta told The Advocate after the game that nearly 100 different Bears took the field on Friday.

This Friday, CHS will play host to St. Amant at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
