Big Orange Wave Takes Third In CHS Invitational
The Big Orange Wave placed third overall in the Catholic High Invitational on Saturday morning at Highland Road Park. The Wave scored 106 points in the 46 team field. CHS outscored area 5A schools Zachary, Dutchtown, East Ascension and Broadmoor, along with 5A powers Holy Cross, Rummel, Mandeville and John Curtis. Brother Martin was the meet winner and was the only 5A team to out point the Bears.
CHS placed three runners in the top 11 spots – Thomas Laville placed 6th overall in 15:45, Caleb Dugas was 9th in 15:56 and James Lalonde clocked in at 16:00 for 11th place.
The CHS junior high team placed second with 44 points, just three points behind meet winner Episcopal. Christopher Cuntz finished second overall with a time of 11:05 and Ben Langley was third in 11:13.
The Bears will likely have next weekend off and resume racing on October 22, in the Episcopal 2 Mile Run. Stay tuned to the school website for any changes concerning racing on the 15th.
