Caleb and Connor Burruss Attain the Rank of Eagle Scout
On Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, Caleb and Connor Burruss celebrated their individual achievements of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout at St. Markí´s Catholic Church in Gonzales, Louisiana. The boysí´ Eagle Court of Honor culminated five challenging years in scoutingí´s leadership and service program where only seven percent of boys earn this coveted award.
Calebí´s Eagle service project consisted of organizing and cleaning the attic area of 40+ years of stored items at the Sacred Heart Chapel at the Gillis Long Center in Carville, Louisiana. Connorí´s Eagle service project consisted of pressure washing and painting the parking-lot and commemorative walkway at American Legion Post 81 in Gonzales, Louisiana. Both projects required extensive planning and coordination with the benefactors and many youth members of the troop to ensure that they were satisfactorily completed within the demanding standards of the BSA.
Caleb and Connor belong to Troop 65 in Gonzales under Scout Master Eric Kelly.
