Catholic High Captures the State Cross Country Championship
Catholic High captured the state cross country title for the second year in a row at Northwestern in Natchitoches on November 16. The “Big Orange Wave” registered the lowest score ever recorded in 5A competition to totally dominate the competition.
Senior Philip Primeaux won the individual title followed by senior Barrett Miller, fourth and sophomore Cole Stafford, fifth. Five additional runners placed in the top 13 in the runaway victory.
The Bears now hold 15 state titles under Head Cross Country Coach Pete Boudreaux. Faculty member Nick Minvielle serves as assistant cross country coach. This victory also marks the 23rd time the CHS Cross Country team has finished a season as either state champion or state runner up.
