CHS Golf Finishes Strong As Division I State Runners-up
Congratulations to the CHS golf team on their state runners-up finish in the Division I tournament. The Bears shot 298-303 for a team score of 601 in the thirty-six hole tournament at Farm d’Allie in Carencro. The 601 was eight strokes behind the winner, but bested the other six teams in the tournament.
Carson Caruso and Jonathan Ellis completed their rounds tied for sixth overall in the Division I tournament with scores of 148. “I am proud of our guys. To finish as the state runner-up is a tremendous honor. We competed hard and finished strong,” commented CHS golf coach Pat Dulaney.
The golf team will say goodbye to seniors D.J. Johnson, Luke Miller, Max Trapp, Lee LeBas, Chase Collier and Ashton Berret. Dulaney was emotional speaking about his seniors. “I have seen these boys become young men and have enjoyed seeing them grow up. The six young men are great ambassadors for Catholic High School, CHS golf and their families. I am proud to be able to coach them and will miss them dearly.”
In the final team meeting on the course, Dulaney thanked the throng of parents and supporters of the golf program for their support and hard work throughout the year. The coach is excited about the future of the program with many talented, young golfers returning along with a handful of incoming freshmen.
