CHS Golf Team Off to a Fast Start
The CHS golf Bears are off to a fast start in the 2021 season after having to cancel their season in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Bears have an early season record of 4-0 with a combination of veteran leadership and youthful talent.

Senior Teagan Richards led all players in the field with a 2 under par 34. Sophomore Walter Anderson was the silver medalist with a 3 over par 39.
In their second match on February 23rd, the Bears posted an impressive team score of 2 over par 146, to secure a 10 shot victory over University High at Santa Maria Golf Club. Sophomore Walter Anderson was the silver medalist, shooting an impressive 3 under par 33 and Senior Trevor Windham chipped in with an even par 36.
The Bears closed out the second week of the season with a 3 shot victory over University High and a 66 shot victory over Live Oak at Greystone Country Club. The Bears were led by their Super Sophomores Carter Schmitt, who won silver medalist honors with a 1 under 35, and Walter Anderson, who carded an even par 36.
Commented Coach Christopher Davis,” I’m very proud of the start that our team has been able to get off to. These young men are just a pleasure to coach. They are always focused on the next shot they are going to hit and how to get better as an individual and a team. I think it says a lot about our balance as a team that in our first three matches, we have had three different players lead us in scoring. Our Senior leadership is strong and this team is hoping to continue to reach for its potential.”
