CHS Recommended to SACS for 5 Year Accreditation
On Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7, Catholic High School hosted a Quality Assurance Review Team from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in order to complete the requirements for accreditation. Over the course of this school year CHS faculty and staff had met regularly to review our school’s performance across seven accreditation standards. Those meetings produced a report on our status; the review team conducted a visit to ratify our report. Over the two day visit, the team met faculty, staff, students, administrators, parents, and alumni. They toured the school, and also met our board of directors.
The team presented its findings to faculty and staff at a meeting after school on March 7. The team found CHS to be an excellent school, and found our self-study to be accurate and thorough. Notably, they agreed with the goals we had set for ourselves as a result of our own review of how well we met the standards for an excellent school. The team will forward to SACS their recommendation that CHS be accredited for another five years.
The Action Plan, developed as a result of this year’s reflection on our performance, lays out the direction the school will move in the coming years.
