Collin Holloway Named to All-Metro Basketball Team
The Catholic basketball program came into the 2017-2018 season with high expectations after great summer league play, a solid off-season in the weight room and practice drills conducted by fifth year head coach Mark Cascio. The Bears started the season fast with a few blowout wins, played tough competition in the middle, then came home with a 5-5A district championship before heading to the Divison I select playoffs.
One of the key cogs in the Bears’ run to the Division I semifinals was sophomore Collin Holloway. A 6’5 guard, Holloway was a 5-5A first team all-district selection and was honored as the team’s most valuable player at the winter sports convocation.
Holloway put up numbers to support his honors by scoring 15 points per game, along with 8 rebounds per game. The sophomore also had averages of 2 assists, 2 blocks and 1.5 steals per contest. The youngster was also named to the All-Metro team for his contributions to the Bears’ deep playoff run.
With Holloway and a host of young returning players, Bear basketball fans have plenty to look forward to in the upcoming years.
