CHS Celebrates Earth Day 2021
The Bears celebrated Earth Day on Thursday, April 22 during all three lunch periods. Students were invited to partake in hands-on experiments and other activities that aimed to raise awareness about ongoing environmental issues.
There was an opportunity for students to sign up for an upcoming clean-up day at the Capitol Lakes, as well as prize giveaways, which included eco-friendly Bear gear from The Bruin Shop.
Students also worked with faculty members to write a thank you to school administrators for what they’ve done to make the campus more sustainable by 1) supporting Earth Day activities, 2) installation of rain gardens around the student center, and 3) planning for the use of reusable utensils, plates, and other measures in the Student Center once COVID-19 restrictions ease.
We would like to send a special shout-out to the Science Club and Bruin Shop for coordinating the day’s events.
