The National High School Golf Association– a resource dedicated to high school golf– released its end of year rankings and CHS is currently ranked #75 in the country. Additionally, the Advocate announced the All-Metro and players and coaches of the year. In the large schools category, Walter Anderson ’23 was named the Outstanding Player of the Year. Walter held a regular-season, nine-hole average of 1.7 strokes under par.

All five of the CHS golf team starters landed spots on the All-Metro Team! Congratulations to Carter Schmitt ’23, Alston Manne ’24, Teagan Richards ’21, Trevor Windham ’21 and Walter Anderson ’23 for this spectacular accomplishment.

CHS would also like to congratulate Coach Christopher Davis for being named the All-Metro Coach of the Year. With his leadership, the Bears clenched the District Championship and finished third in the LHSAA Division I state tournament. The team’s score of 597 as the best score at an LHSAA tournament in a decade.

“I am extremely proud of the season our young men put together,” commented Davis. “We thank our Seniors for their commitment to our program and we look forward to the continued development of our underclassmen. It’s a tremendous accomplishment to go through the Metro Season undefeated and have all 5 of our varsity starters named to the All-Metro team. To cap off the season with a sub-600 score at State was great also. We are looking forward to the future of Catholic High golf as we strive to build off this past year and achieve more great things in the future.”
