Football Team Receives State Championship Rings at Prayer Service
The 2015 Division I Football State Champions received their championship rings on Sunday, Feb. 28, during a prayer service at the Catholic Life Center. Players and their families gathered Sunday to celebrate and give thanks for a safe and successful season, and to accept their championship rings.
The ceremony began with a prayer service – the same way our athletes begin every game day. Special guest speakers, Wesley Salmon and Ryan Jumonville (members of the 1990 state runners-up team), spoke on what the 2015 championship meant to them and how important this team is to the history of CHS football.
The first ring of the night was awarded to Coach Dale Wiener by CHS Principal Lisa Harvey. That was followed by the coaching staff receiving their rings from Weiner. The players were called up by position to accept their ring from their position coach.
