Jazz Band Has Dominating Performance in Nashville
The CHS Jazz Band traveled to Nashville, Tennessee from Thursday, April 3 through Sunday, April 6 to perform in the WorldStrides Heritage National Performance Festival.
The band swept the competition, earning superior ratings from each judge, winning first place in the Jazz Band category, receiving the top score in all instrument categories and winning the Adjudicators Award for best overall performance.
Apart from dominating the competition, while in Nashville, the members of the Jazz Band had the opportunity to explore some highlights of Nashville. On Friday morning, the band bus pulled up to RCA studios, where students had the opportunity to explore Studio B and record their own music in Studio B, which is where Elvis recorded many of his songs. Immediately after leaving RCA Studios, the group received a tour of the Grand Ole Opry, the Vanderbilt campus and the Parthenon in Centennial Park.
Additionally, the group got to take a look around the Nashville Zoo and the Country Music Hall of Fame.
