Lacrosse JVB Defeats Central Wildcats

The JVB squad from lacrosse traveled to Wildcat Stadium to compete against the Central Wildcats Thursday night. With help of a solid defensive effort and scoring from multiple players, the Bears were able to come away with a 8-5 victory.

The Bears were led offensively by Aston Richard, who had 5 points off of 4 goals and 1 assist. He was joined by Holden David, who had 4 points off of 2 goals and 2 assist. They were joined in scoring by Shade Verret and John Butler, who each scored the first goal of their career.  Grant Alonzo had 1 point off of an assist.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears were by goalie Ryan Smith, who had 12 saves and 3 ground ball, and by Michael Browning who had 3 ground balls and 3 take aways.

“It makes for a good game when you pass and catch the ball,” stated Coach Charlie Demas after the game.  He was proud of his young squad after this big road win.

The squad moves their record to 2-1-2 and will travel to Houston this weekend to play Friendswood and Pearland.
