LAX Bears Head To The Quaterfinals With Win Over Dutchtown

The first round of the playoffs proved to be friendly for the CHS lacrosse team as they defeated Dutchtown, 8-5, last weekend. The Bears remained steady with pressure on offense to come away with the victory.

Evan Fontenot led the offensive charge for the Bears, scoring five goals in the victory. Holden Farmer tacked on two goals for the Bears against the Griffins’ first team all-district goalkeeper. CHS keeper Beau Abadie collected fifteen saves against a potent Griffin offense. Michael Browning had one takeaway and four groundballs to help lead the defense. The “X factor” proved to be Carter Dicharry who won four of his five faceoffs from the “X” position.

The victory put the Bears’ record at 12-4, and sets the stage for a quarterfinal matchup against St. Thomas More. STM won its first round game with a 15-1 blowout over Central. The match will be played at STM on Saturday, April 22, at 1 p.m.
