Mark Cascio ’03 Named CHS Head Basketball Coach

Mark Cascio has been named head basketball coach at Catholic High School of Baton Rouge.

Cascio, a 2003 Catholic High School graduate, has served as head basketball coach at Christian Life Academy for the last three years.  He has a 74-26 record at CLA and 9-3 playoff record. 
Cascio led the CLA basketball team to a State Title in 2011-12, the semi-finals in 2012-13 and three district titles. He was named District Coach of the Year for district 8-1A and 7-1A for three straight years.  Players and teams coached by Cascio have achieved district MVP, 1st and 2nd Team All-State, 1-A Player of the Year and All-District and All-Metro recognition.  Cascio has also coached two 1,000 point scorers in his career.

Prior to coaching at Christian Life Academy, Cascio served as head basketball coach for the boysí´ and girlsí´ teams at Catholic High of Pointe Coupee from 2007-2010; assistant varsity coach and head junior varsity and freshman coach for Catholic High School from 2005-2007; coach of the AAU Baton Rouge Bearcats from 2003-2009; and basketball coach for St. Aloysius from 2001-2005.

In addition to coaching basketball, Cascio will teach Social Studies and Health & Physical Education.

Cascio received a Bachelor of Science from LSU. He is married to Kristen Cascio and has two daughters, Eloise and Charlotte Cate.
