1963 Varsity Football Team Recognized Before McKinley Game
Members of the 1963 CHS varsity football team were recognized before the game against McKinley game on Friday, October 25 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their historic defeat over Istrouma.
On October 24, 1963, the Bears pulled off an incredible victory against the state-champion Istrouma Indians. This night marked the first time in 27 years that CHS beat Istrouma, and members of the team were happy to celebrate their win 50 years later. Sixteen members of the historic team gathered together to reminisce about that night before they were recognized on the field by CHS Athletic Director J.P. Kelly ’92.
Members of the 1963 team who attended were Robert Drago í´64, Duz Hamilton í´64, Gerald LoBianco í´64, Tony Marabella í´64, Steve Myshrall í´64, Don Plaisance í´64, Rickey Sanchez í´64, Dale Burns í´64, Tony Rebaldo í´65, Mike Martone í´65, Larry King í´65, Lloyd Plaisance í´65, John McCann í´66, and Steve Polozola í´66.Teammates were joined by their assistant coach Barret Murphy í´55.
