Alumni Association Celebrates 15th Annual Brother Eldon 5K

The Catholic High Alumni Association hosted the 15th Annual Brother Eldon 5K Run and One-Mile Run/Walk/Jog on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Catholic High School.

More than 350 participants, families and friends of CHS enjoyed great weather and a competitive race followed by delicious food, drinks and live music in the CHS courtyard. BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana served as title sponsor for the event.

The Overall 5K male and female winners are Mitchell Bogran with a time of 18:00 and Hayley Schwab with a time of 20:05. Race results were tabulated by Ben Cherbonnier and members of the Club South Running Club. A complete list of results is posted on the Brother Eldon 5K page and can be viewed by clicking here.

Fresh fruit for the runners was provided by Hi Nabor Supermarket and beverages by Baton Rouge Coca Cola Bottling Company. After the race, runners enjoyed jambalaya by Bill and Cynthia Steele, in honor of their son, Will Steele í´94. More delicious food was provided by Peteí´s Lagniappe Catering, Chef Ben Randow sponsored by Ad-Venture Silk Screen, PODS Storage, Piccadilly Restaurants and Smoothie King. Raising Caneí´s set up a tent and served iced tea and lemonade. The Acoustic House band of CHS alumni Patrick Kennedy í´81 and Ric Simmons í´81 performed at the conclusion of the race.

This yearí´s 5K committee was co-chaired by Tre Hendry í´90 and John McLindon í´81. Hendry and McLindon were assisted by members of the CHS Alumni Board of Directors including Director of Alumni Relations Glen Randow and Associate Director of Alumni Relations Barbara Camp. Also assisting were members of the CHS Advancement Team, Angie Allen, Wendy Coniglio, Margie Alexander, Jennifer Knight, Sherie LeBlanc and Holly Randow of Ad-Venture Silk Screen.
