Astronomy Club Visits NASA

Seven students from the Catholic High Astronomy Club visited NASA’s Space Center Houston, Johnson Space Center on Sunday, January 23, 2005. Astronomy Club members visiting NASA were Taylor Johnson, Alex Demas, Joey Chatelain, Josh Barrios, Nicholas Comeaux, Adam Frost and Andrew Bayer.
The group toured exhibits such as the Cassini-Huygens, NASA’s Saturn probe mission; the original Mission Control exhibit, which is listed on the National Historical Registry; Moon Rocks; a variety of mock ups of the X-38, an experimental space craft designed for crew return from a space station; the Space Mock up Facility (SVMF), which displays actual size space shuttles and space vehicle mock ups used in training.
