Baseball Bears Blank The Warriors
St. Michael came into Grizzly Field on Tuesday with a two game winning streak against Catholic High. The Bears got a complete game performance from Landon Boeneke on the mound and nine hits from CHS hitters to defeat the Warriors, 7-0.
Boeneke (1-0) struck out eight St. Michael batters and limited the Warriors to just three singles on the evening. Cameron Dartez and Brennan Lambert each picked up two hits, while Grant Segar and Trey Gagliano combined to drive in five runs to run the home team’s record to 6-0.
The Bears piled on five runs in the third inning to set the tone for the game and the performance by Boeneke. A flawless effort by the CHS defense cemented the outcome for St. Michael.
