Baseball Bears Continue Streak!

The Bears used an explosive six run third inning to propel themselves to a 10-0 run rule shortened district match-up with East Ascension on Saturday. The Bears are now 19-4 on the season and 2-0 in district play. The shutout at Grizzly Field was the fourteenth in a row for CHS and moved the club into second in the 5A power ratings.

Top of the order hitters, Cole Johnson and Brandon Fairbanks, both collected two hits with an RBI on the afternoon. The big hitter was Will Ethridge who jacked a grand slam with two outs in a 2-0 game in the third inning. Patrick Crifasi had a hit from the nine hole and Daniel Guilbeau drove in two runs to complete the offensive attack.

Parker Evans moved his record to 4-0 with a complete game, five inning performance. The junior righty gave up two hits and struck out four on sixty-six pitches.

The Bears will resume 5-5A play on Tuesday, April 5, when the Bucs of Broadmoor visit Grizzly Field. First pitch gets things underway at 4 p.m.
