Baseball Bears Play Game 3 versus Hahnville on Tuesday, May 3

The Bears return to Grizzly Field on Tuesday, May 3, at 6 p.m. for game 3 of the best of three series versus Hahnville in the second round of the 5A playoffs.  The Bears dropped Game 1 of the series on Friday night, 4-1, but evened the series on Saturday night, needing eight innings to beat the Tigers, 4-2.  The Bears are 28-6 on the season.

Brady Hebert took the loss on the mound in Game 1 despite throwing well enough to win. Hebert went seven complete, striking out seven and giving up just three earned runs. The sophomore righty threw 60 strikes on 100 pitches.

In Game 2, the Bears needed extra innings to put the Tigers away on a two-run single by senior Connor Bowen in the eighth inning.  Brady Sartain picked up the win in relief of Brian Fairbanks.  Sartain gave up just two hits in five and two-thirds of work.

The Game 3 winner advances to the state quarterfinals, beginning on Friday, in another three game series.
