Baseball Team Continues on Winning Streak

The CHS baseball team won their ninth straight game on Tuesday evening and continued their run as the hottest team in Class 5A with a 17-0 win over Dunham at Grizzly Field.  Martin Morris tossed a five inning complete game, striking out three while surrendering just four hits on seventy-seven pitches.

The offensive onslaught was led by a host of Bears, as ten players picked up hits for the home team.  Brian Fairbanks and Jack Burns picked up three RBI and Connor Bowen had two RBI.  Fairbanks, Burns, Bowen, Brennan Lambert and Tristan Welch all slugged doubles for the Bears.

The 14-4 Bears will take on the 10-7 Zachary Broncos at Grizzly Field on Wednesday. The Bears are the #5 ranked team in the most recent power ratings.  Zachary has posted signature wins against #8 Sam Houston, pre-season nationally ranked Sulphur and #6 Jesuit.  The Broncos are coming off a narrow 1-0 loss to #1 Brother Martin over the weekend.  Brady Hebert will deliver the first pitch at 3:30pm.
