The CHS baseball team finished 2-2 in the Barbe Baseball Tournament held Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2.

The Bears defeated Sulphur 4-0, led by sophomore Ross Massey, who recorded 14 strikeouts and only gave up 2 hits in a complete game. The Bears also beat Byrd 12-4, led by freshman Josh Smith who hit two homeruns in the game.

The bears dropped a 4-1 loss to STM after an outstanding effort by senior Ben Braymer, and a 12-11 loss to Barbe. “The Barbe game was an exciting baseball game. Back and forth with 3 lead changes, The guys showed tremendous heart to battle back at the end.”  The bears were down 6 heading into the 6 inning and mounted a dramatic comeback to tie at 11-11, but fell just short in the 7th.

The next action for the Baseball Bears will be Thursday night at the CHS Grizzly Field vs St. Michael.
