Baseball Team Moves To 8-2 With Win Over Dunham
Austin Andrishok’s sharp mound performance and Brady Hebert’s three hit day were good enough to push the Bears to a 8-2 win over the Dunham Tigers on Tuesday night. CHS had a five run explosion in the fifth which was good enough to stay clear of any late Dunham charges.
Andrishok tossed six innings and Max Wagner closed with a scoreless seventh. Andrishok gave up five hits and struck out four Tigers to push his record to 3-0. Seventeen of 25 Tiger hitters saw first pitch strikes from the junior lefty.
Hebert had a double and a triple among his three hits to lead the Bears at the plate. Jordan Werner continued his hot streak at the plate with two hits. Patrick Crifasi, Tyler Suire and Werner all had stolen bases for the Bears.
The Bears take on Zachary on the road with first pitch at 6 p.m. The JV Bears get underway at 4 p.m. in the prelude to the highly anticipated varsity game. Zachary defeated CHS 9-1 in the first week of the season, but the Bears have won seven of their last eight games. The lone loss came at the hands of Teurlings in a 3-2 ballgame.
The weekend pits the Bears against Scotlandville at Grizzly Field for 11 a.m. The Hornets come into the game with a 18-0 record. The Hornets have recorded six shutouts on the season and play Southern Lab on Friday at Goldsby Field prior to their matchup versus the Bears.
