Baseball Team Wins State Title

The Catholic High Baseball team won the state title Sunday afternoon.  The Bears defeated Lafayette 8 – 1. The team ended their season with a final record of 33 wins and six losses.  The Bears outscored their opponents 31 to 11 in the three games in the State Tournament.

Leading up to the State Title game, the Bears defeated West Monroe 14 – 4 in the 10-run rule at the bottom of the fifth inning on Friday night.  On Saturday, following a rain delay, the Bears took on Dutchtown.  The Bears clinched their spot in the State Title game with an 8 – 6 victory over Dutchtown.
