Basketball Bears Defeat Central 50-39

The basketball Bears raised their record to 13-7 with a 50-39 win over the Central Wildcats at home on Tuesday, Jan.10. The Bears found themselves down by seven points in the third quarter only to storm back with a vengeance and win by 11. Dean Jolly led CHS with 14 points while Tensley Aldredge put in 13.

The Bears head to Walker for a Friday night game in Livingston Parish against the Walker Wildcats on Jan. 13. The Wildcats sport a 16-5 record and are coached by WHS alumnus Anthony Schiro.

“Walker is a good basketball team and will provide us with a stern road test before we open district play next week,” said CHS head basketball coach Mark Cascio. “Walker is always good at home and they should have an enthusiastic crowd. They are a transition team and everyone on their roster can score, which poses a challenge for us defensively. They are talented, athletic and they play hard. We look forward to the test they will provide.”

Tip off is for 7:00 p.m. in Walker.
