Basketball Bears Improve Record To 20-2
The CHS basketball team improved their record to 20-2 on the road last week with wins over Lee and Walker High School.
The Bears began the road trip with a stop at Lee to face the Patriots. A first half offensive barrage, including 10 three-pointers, helped CHS get out to a 48-19 lead. The Bears held Lee to under 35 percent shooting percentage on their way to a 74-51 win.
On Friday, CHS hosted Walker in a match-up of two of the best teams in Baton Rouge. The game lived up to its billing with great plays and multiple lead changes in a back and forth battle. After the Wildcats and LSU signee Jalen Cook took a lead in the fourth quarter, CHS surged back ahead late and was able to hold off Walker with clutch free throw shooting. The Bears were led by senior guard Kentrell Garnett’s stellar 35-point performance.
The basketball Bears are back in action this week as they travel to Plaquemine on Tuesday and return home to host Crescent City on Friday.
