Basketball Bears To Open Season Play Against Jesuit

The Bear hoopsters will open 2015-2016 play on Tuesday, November 17 at Catholic High. Jesuit, a traditional 5A juggernaut, will make the drive up Interstate 10 from New Orleans to Baton Rouge for the season opener.  Jesuit has made the 5A playoffs the last four seasons and had a second round playoff appearance in 2013.

The Jays defeated Northshore High of Slidell in their Hall of Fame game warmup for their season opener.  Jesuit was victorious over the Panthers 56-39 in that contest.

The Bears closed out its pre-season with a 35-33 win over Zachary in the Zachary Jamboree.  íÍThe [jamboree] victory gives us experience in winning tight games against quality opponents and insight on key areas of improvement in which we need to focus on,” said senior forward Demarcus Shepherd.  Senior guard Ethan Tregle hit free throws down the stretch to help seal the win versus Zachary.
