Basketball “Silent Night” Game Set For Tuesday, Jan. 31
The words “Silent Night” have been whispered around campus about tonight’s on campus event. There will be no caroling by the CHS choir or gifts handed out by Santa’s elves, but there will be a District 5-5A basketball game versus McKinley. Tip off for the annual Silent Night game on Tuesday, Jan. 31, will be at 7:15 p.m. in the Catholic High gym.
CHS students and fans are encouraged to “wait til eight” before erupting into a controllable frenzy. That is, wait until eight points are scored by the Bears, thus keeping with the “Silent Night” theme.
The basketball Bears take their 15-10 record into tonight’s game against the Panthers. The Bears are led in the scoring ledger by seniors Tensley Aldredge and Dean Jolly. CHS lost its last game in heartbreaking fashion by one point to Dutchtown.
McKinley opened 5-5A play with two wins, but have since dropped games against Broadmoor and 5-5A leader East Ascension. Veteran Harold Boudreaux is the head coach of the Panthers.
The freshmen at 5 p.m. and junior varsity 6 p.m. precede the Silent Night event.
