Bears Against Destructive Decisions Attend iCARE Training

The BADD (Bears Against Destructive Decision) Club attended the I CARE TeamSpirit Leadership Training on Thursday, October 4.

The BADD students participated in  activities that simulated the effects of texting and driving and  drinking and driving,  and they learned  the importance of wearing seat belts. CHS students who attended were Garret Broussard, Zack Miller, Ben Schexnayder, Ryan Sandifer, Ben Grandy, Andrew Thriffiley, David Wroten, Andrew Rabalais and Kean Miller. Faculty sponsors were Cathy Robichaux and Lisa Summerville.

The TeamSpirit Leadership Training is designed to empower youth to take an active role in the prevention of underage drinking, the use of other drugs and impaired driving. It is based on the belief that young people can become a powerful force in combating these and related problems. The goal of the training is to provide participants with information, skills and motivation to organize programs, events and activities in their schools and communities.
