Bears kick off their 2018-2019 slate with a 2-0 victory over Northshore

A strong fall semester has been signaled by the Catholic High athletic teams of football, cross country, swimming, and basketball, as all opened its seasons with victories on their respective playing fields.  Add soccer to the list as the Bears kicked off its 2018-2019 slate with a 2-0 victory over Northshore.

Ben Stupprich found the back of the net early in the first half and the Bears took a 1-0 lead into intermission.  The lead rolled to 2-0 when Alex Leonard scored early into the second half.  The Bears played relentless defense and stymied Northshore’s attacking efforts.

Catholic will take its 1-0 record into the Thanksgiving Break and return the following weekend in the Brothers of the Sacred Heart tournament at Vandebilt Catholic in Houma.  CHS will take on host Vandebilt and fellow BOSH school Brother Martin in soccer action.  Check the website going forward for match times.
