Ben Jumonville Selected State Representative at Boys Nation
At Louisiana Boys State, Catholic High Senior Ben Jumonville was selected as one of two delegates to represent Louisiana at Boys Nation in Washington, D.C. from July 16-27.
Jumonville will join students from around the country and will participate in discussing legislation and current bills. He will also have the opportunity to meet President Obama, Congressmen, and to visit U.S. State Departments.
Jumonville was one of six students from Catholic High who attended Boys State. Others included Andrew Carmichael, Jae Labat, John Paul Luckett, Simon Cassel and Chris Focht. Luckett was selected State Attorney General.
‘Upon going to Boys State, I was ready to be immersed in local politics and government. As the week went on and I became close with other Boys State delegates, I realized that this was an extraordinary group of people. With that in mind, it is a real honor to be chosen to represent not only Louisiana but also the 400 other ‘citizens of Boys State’ at Boys Nation,’ commented Jumonville.
Jumonville is serving as president of Hi-Y and as a member of the Executive Board of Student Council. He is a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Ministry and the wrestling team.
A graduate of St. Aloysius Elementary School, Jumonville is the son of Charles and Wendy Jumonville.
