Big Orange Takes 2nd In Class 5A – Region II Meet
The Big Orange Wave finished second in the Class 5A, Region II meet held at Money Hill Plantation in Abita Springs on Saturday, Nov. 5. 2016. The Bears scored 61 points and the team averaged just over 16 minutes for their top five runners in the Regional. With the runner-up finish, the Bears qualify as a team for the Class 5A state meet in Natchitoches next week. The meet will be run at Northwestern State. There were eight teams entered and over seventy runners participated in the Money Hill race. St. Paul’s, the meet winner, hosted the event.
Thomas Laville was the top Bear, finishing in eighth place with a time of 15:54. Sophomore James Lalonde continued his improvement in his first varsity season hitting the finish line in tenth place in 15:58.
