Big Orange Wave Brings Home A Win!
The Big Orange Wave scored its first cross country victory of the season at the Battlefield Invitational in Port Hudson, Louisiana. The Wave scored 31 points and had the second and third place finishers in the three mile varsity race.
Thomas Laville placed second with a time of 16:49 and Caleb Dugas stopped the watch in 16:53, good enough for third place. James Lalonde ran a fine race and finished 6th overall in 17:07. Completing the top five for the Bears were Collin Hedges (17:32) and Robert Peek (17:40). Eighth grader Ben Langley, finished second in the junior high race in 11:54.
Coach Pete Boudreaux was pleased with his teams performance.”Our guys had a nice run at a picturesque location in Port Hudson. Our times may have been a little slower because rain made for a softer course, but I was pleased with our effort and how hard they competed. We need to tighten up our sixth and seventh place runners a bit, but that will come around with more racing experience under our belts.”
The Wave will hit the course again on Saturday, October 1, at the St. Joseph’s Invitational at Highland Road Park. The first gun sets runners off at 8:30am.
