Big Orange Wave Places Third at Walker High Shootout
The CHS Cross Country team placed third at the Walker High Shootout on Saturday, October 16 with 92 points. The Big Orange Wave was led by senior Jeffrey Kelley, running a personal best time of 14:50 on his way to a second place overall finish.
Senior David Toups ran 15:20 to finish in sixth place. John Donner, Caleb Dugas and Thomas Laville all checked in with a time of 16:07 to score points for the Bears. Michael Hubbell (16:11), Collin Sarrazin (16:23), Andre Aguillard (16:33) and Peter Laville (16:44) were the runners who completed the varsity lineup.
Finishing first for the Bears in the 3 mile Open Division was Robert Peek, completing the course in 16:58. Michael Tramonte (17:08), Josh Durnin (17:10) and Taylor Empson (17:12) also produced top times for the Open runners.
The junior high squad was led by Carter Rome with a clocking of 17:56 and Quinn Ostrowe in 17:59 for the three mile race. Kade Boenecke was the top 8th grader for the Bears with a time of 18:35 for three miles.
Pete Boudreaux’s squad hits the course again on Saturday, October 24 at the Episcopal 2 Miler. The first race is scheduled for 8 a.m.
