Bowling Bears Finish Regular Season Undefeated
The CHS bowling team closed out the regular season with a perfect 12-0 record for the fourth consecutive year. The Bears finished the last week of the season with a Monday win over Denham Springs by a tally of 22-5. On Wednesday, the Bears shut out Zachary 27-0.
Catholic will enter the playoffs as the #1 seed in the Baton Rouge region. Playoffs begin on March 19 at All-Star Lanes in Baton Rouge. If the Bears advance, they will bowl in New Orleans at Kenner Lanes to vie for their position in the final four on Tuesday, March 27. The matchup will be over spring break on April 4-5 with a team event and then a singles division competition. The times are to be determined based on the seeding of the rest of the region.
In the Baton Rouge Metro Bowling League, the Bears had a high average of 808, far outdistancing its nearest competitor. Easton Hollis had the highest average of any Baton Rouge prep bowler with an average of 209. Brian Dinh rolled a 196 average with Adam Crosby and Philip O’Neill both coming in with a 194 average. Hollis, Dinh, Crosby and O’Neill posted four of the top seven averages in the Metro League. Hollis also sported the highest series on the year with a 714.
