Brad Bass Named CHS Head Baseball Coach

Brad Bass has been named head baseball coach at Catholic High School of Baton Rouge. 

Bass has served as head baseball coach and head football coach at False River Academy for the past three years. Under his leadership, Bass led the baseball team to three playoff berths, including the quarterfinals in 2011.  The football team also made the playoffs – a feat achieved only for the second time in 20 years. 

Prior to coaching at False River Academy, Bass served as assistant baseball coach at Catholic High under Kyle Achord in 2008; was assistant baseball coach at the Baton Rouge Community College in 2006-2007; and was assistant baseball coach at Okaloosa -Walton College in Fort Walton, Florida in 2006.

Bass played catcher for LSU from 2003-2005. He was named to the Academic All SEC Team in 2005 and won the Distinguished Student Athlete Award in 2005.  Prior to playing at LSU, Bass played catcher one year for the Southern University baseball team and helped the team capture the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship. He also was the starting catcher at North Central Texas College where the team won the NJCAA National Championship.

A native of Port Allen, Bass received a Bachelor of Science from LSU with a concentration in Health and Physical Education.  He is married to Annie Claire Laborde Bass.
