Brother Eldon 5K Run Draws Over 200 Runners

The Catholic High School Alumni Association hosted the annual Brother Eldon 5K Run and One Mile Run/Walk/Jog on Saturday, February 23. Over 200 runners participated in the event. Following the race, runners enjoyed jambalaya provided by Pete Hymel. Awards were given to top finishers in a variety of categories. Award recipients received gift certificates provided by Varsity Sports.

New to the Brother Eldon 5K this year was a Student Special drawing for $500 credit toward tuition or $500 in cash. The student winner of this drawing was John ‘Mac’ Hoffman ’11. Hoffman was one of six family teams represented in this first time drawing.

‘It was a fun day to get together with other ladies from Catholic High to run. It was also nice seeing people we have not seen in a while who came back just for the race.’ Pinney Johnson, CHS Bookstore.
