Brother Eldon 5K Run Set for March 12
Registration continues for the 12th Annual Brother Eldon 5K Run and One-Mile Run/Walk/Jog to be held at Catholic High School on Saturday, March 12, 2011.
An added feature of the race this year will be a call to inspire Will Steele í´94, currently undergoing treatment for a rare form of sarcoma cancer at M.D. Anderson. Will is a former participant and winner of the 5K race. He was running eight miles a day at the time of his diagnosis. Willí´s father, Bill Steele, will begin a walk from Baton Rouge to Houston to inspire his son to fight this difficult disease. The walk will begin on March 12 from the 5K race site.
The Alumni Office would like to encourage alumni, family and friends to be a part of the Brother Eldon 5K by participating in the race and joining us in prayer for Will and his fatherí´s walk to inspire.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. followed by the One-Mile event at 8 a.m. and the 5K race at 8:30 a.m. At the conclusion of the race door prizes as well as individual awards will be given and all participants will enjoy jambalaya prepared by Pete Hymel. A commemorative T-shirt will be given to all registered participants.
