CHS Students Visit Classmate at St. Jude Children’s Hospital
On Monday, Dec. 11, faculty members Brother Ray Hebert, SC, Patrick Dulaney and Scott Losavio took 21 students to visit Robert Ritchie, CHS freshman, in Memphis where he is receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The group met Robert and his mother, Liz Pocorello, in the hospital parking lot. Robert expected the faculty members, but was surprised to see his fellow classmates there as well.
The group presented him with many gifts from CHS and the community, including LSU Baseball memorabilia signed by head baseball coach Paul Mainieri, and took a brief tour of the common areas of the hospital. Other activities included a visit to the Bass Pro Shop in the Memphis Pyramid facility that has an observation deck at the top, spending time at a beautiful park along the Mississippi River bank, and a meal together at Central Barbecue.
“Overall it was an extraordinary day,” said Losavio. “Robert got to be with his friends and hang out like an ordinary freshman for awhile.”
