Bruin Broadcast Network’s Live Stream To Be Broadcast On WBTR
Catholic High School (CHS) has partnered with WBRZ-TV to broadcast the Bruin Broadcast Network’s (BBN) coverage of the 2018 CHS football season. The live broadcast will air on WBTR Channel 19 or in HD on Chanel 1019 in Baton Rouge and EATEL Channel 144 in Ascension, and will begin at 7 p.m. on game days. Fans will also be able to access the live stream at www.bruinbroadcast.com and by tuning into 104.5/104.9 FM ESPN Baton Rouge.
The Bruin Broadcast Network (BBN) is a student-run organization that produces online broadcasts of student activities including athletic, choir and band events. “Every broadcast will be planned and executed by our students in the Bruin Broadcast Network,” said Ben DiPalma ’00, assistant athletic director. “This partnership with WBRZ-TV is an incredible opportunity for our students to expand their digital and media education through hands-on experience, and will allow members of the community who can’t make it to the games a chance to watch the Bears from their own homes.”
Returning to the broadcast team this year are play-by-play announcer Dixon Wallace McMakin, CHS class of 2005, and team statistician David Butler, CHS class of 1977 and a member of the CHS Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Fame. New to the team is CHS football great and Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Fame member Kevin Franklin, CHS class of 1993. Franklin will serve as the color commentator.
