Catholic High Basketball Coach to Return to Alma Mater
Catholic High School Head Basketball Coach Kemper Todd will be leaving CHS at the end of the school year to become head basketball coach at his alma mater, Isidore Newman School in New Orleans.
Todd served as head basketball coach since 2003. His overall record is 125-70 and 47-21 in district. He led Catholic High to three district championships in a row and playoffs in four of the six seasons. He was named District 5 5-A Coach of the Year in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
‘During his six years as Catholic High’s head basketball coach, Kemper Todd has led our teams to unprecedented success, most notably three district titles in a row ‘ a first for CHS. His knowledge of the game and his skill as a coach have provided the foundation necessary for our teams’ successes. We are grateful for his service and we wish him well as he begins a new chapter in his life,’ commented Catholic High Principal Brother Barry Landry, SC.
‘I am very appreciative of the leadership at Catholic High, especially that of Athletic Director Pete Boudreaux. He has helped me to grow not only professionally, but also as a man of God,’ commented Todd.
‘It has always been a goal of mine to return home to New Orleans, and this opportunity allows my entire family to be located at the same school. Terry will teach pre-kindergarten and our two children will attend Newman,’ added Todd.
