Catholic High Defeats St. Amant 28-7 in District Football Game
Catholic High defeated St. Amant 28-7 Friday night to set up a key district showdown against Dutchtown Friday, November 4 at Olympia Stadium. With a win, the Bears can capture a share of the district championship.
In the St. Amant game, Catholic High rushed for 199 yards and gained 338 yards in total offense.
Khalil Thomas first scored for the Bears on a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Andrew Fournet added a 51-yard interception return to make the score 13-0.
Catholic High pushed its lead to 19-0 on its first possession of the second quarter. D.J. Woodard’s 26-yard run led to Nick Coomes’ 1-yard run across the goal line. St. Amant then scored to make it 19-7. The half ended with the Bears’ Guy Hymel kicking a 22-yard filed goal to make it 22-7 at the half.
The Bears final score came in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard touchdown by Coomes.
