Catholic High Mourns Loss of Hall of Famer Frank Bologna íî45

Catholic High lost a special friend and Hall of Fame member with the passing of Frank Bologna í´45 on Thursday, January 27, 2011. 

Although a 1945 graduate of Riverside Military Academy, Frank became a 1945 honorary graduate of Catholic High School.  He was a charter member of the CHS Founders Society, and Frank and his wife íÍCookieíñ were named Perpetual Founders.  In 1980, Frank was installed in the Catholic High School Hall of Fame for his leadership, service, character, heroism, dedication and patriotism. Members of the Hall of Fame are inspirations to the students of Catholic High School.

Frank was married to Maria íÍCookieíñ Palermo Bologna for 55 years until her death in 2004.    Frank and Cookie had two sons graduate CHS: Gene in 1969 and Paul in 1978.  Their three daughters, Sandra Ribes, íÍReíñ DiVincenti and Phyllis Kerr graduated from St. Josephí´s Academy.  The Bolognas have two sons-in- law, Richard Ribes í´65 and David DiVincenti í´70 who are CHS graduates as are four grandsons: Francis Bologna í´00, David DiVincenti  Jr í´01, Jason Ribes í´93 and Justin Ribes í´01.

Frank and his father founded Baton Rouge Wholesale Liquor Co which expanded to Bologna of Louisiana.  Frankí´s commitment to education included coaching, serving on numerous school boards, endowing scholarships at Catholic High School, St. Josephí´s Academy, St. Aloysius. St. Joseph Seminary and LSU.

Frank will be remembered  for his love of God, his family and his generosity in thanksgiving to God and Catholic High School and what it has meant to his family.
