Catholic High School Class of 2021 Receives Senior Rings

The Presentations of the Class of 2021 and Ring Ceremonies were held on Monday and Tuesday, August 17 and 18, 2020 in the Catholic High School Gymnasium. Father Trey Nelson, CHS Class of 1980, and Brother Ray Hebert celebrated the mass. Mr. Stephen Galliano directed the music for each ceremony. Senior Ian Cavana played the piano while Brayden Guitreau and Jack Matthews served as cantors. They were accompanied by Dr. Tom Eldringhoff on guitar.

Each of the two hundred and sixty-eight members of the class of 2021 were introduced as a school leader for the 2020-2021 school year as administrators presented senior rings. According to the “Symbolism of the Catholic High School Ring,” the Catholic High School Ring is a symbol of the loyalty, dependability and courage needed in the never-ending struggle to live up to the ideals of Christianity.

While this special ceremony was delayed and looked different due to COVID-19 restrictions, the tradition of celebrating the brotherhood of the CHS senior class lived on. The seniors were challenged by Father Trey and Mrs. Harvey to be truly present and make the most of this special time in their lives.

The ceremonies can be viewed in the archives of Bruin Broadcast Network. To see the B-Day stream, click on “Playlist” to see that option (the small blue button on the right side of the window).
